Membrane separation
Membrane separation is one of the classic methods of gas upgrading. This process is based on the principle of permeable membranes for the separation of methane and CO2. Membrane separation is demonstrably a simple, energy-saving and environmentally friendly method for biogas upgrading, however the process efficiency is lower.
In order to increase this efficiency, a specialized system has been developed to combine the advantages of a membrane system with the use of permeable gases for heat/electric power generation.
In these specific cases, membrane technology has several advantages
- no methane losses
- low production and maintenance costs
- compact size and ease of use
